Oh yes they have done It!

Our honorable? men and women who sit in the Kenyan parliament have finally awarded themselves a send off. A lucrative package of KShs 6.8 Million (USD 100,000) each as a pat in the back for a job well done in the last five years.

Of course a number of them have argued that they did not need the money, but I am yet to know which MP in Kenya would decline that kind of money.

For the 222 Mps to take home Kshs 6.8M, it will be a total of Kshs 1.5 billion gone down the drain. This money is enough to construct several primary schools or dispensaries or even tarmac 100 kilometers of a road anywhere.

But wait, what is it realy that they have done. Reports indicate that the ninth parliament has done very little compared to other parliaments. The Mps perfected noise making and as far as I know Kenya has been in a campaign mood since it last conducted its general elections.

The guys, overpaid and underworked had nothing to do with the salaries that they gave themselves the first time they stepped in parliament in the year 2003. They perfected floor crossing and the government realising the weakness killed the opposition.

As far as I know, the official leader of opposition has been a sitting duck and were it not for Raila Odinga, the rulers in Kenya would be doing what they want with impunity.

Now they have enough ammo to go and campaign and get re-elected back to parliament.

With Mps like who needs muggers in the street?
